The Dell Repair Contract Is Up For Renewal

Posted by Anisma on January 5th, 2010

The dell repair contract that we had with the company has expired. I think that they want to renegotiate a new one but I have heard that they have raised their prices considerably this year. I wanted to use them again but think that I may need to start searching for a smaller dell repair company that is willing to deal, to have our business.

The company we used to have, had to have come out here at least ten times a month to repair something and each time we called them they charged us a trip charge. I would think that since we bought two new poweredge servers from them, they would be more likely to give us the prices we had before.

I am going to put all of my thoughts in a letter and then fax it over to the salesman who is in charge of our account over there and remind him of the great commission he made on the poweredge servers. I am hoping that he can set the prices or convince whoever is in charge that we deserve to have the prices from before or else we will have to take our business elsewhere.

The Used POS Equipment Total Was Very Low

Posted by Anisma on January 4th, 2010

I wanted to make sure that my boss understood that we could not use the old scanning equipment any longer and we needed to get some new stuff soon. I had found a used pos equipment site that had really good quality products for really low prices. I had already priced everything that we would need so that he could not give me the excuse that I just did not know how expensive that was and tell me to go away.

I was not giving up until I had him on the used point of sale equipment website with his credit card in his hand, ordering exactly what was on my list. I had the whole staff behind me, and even some of the regular customers who had seen us struggle with the old outdated cash register scanners we were using.

I knew that this was the only way and now I just needed to convince him of that and not stop till I had him. I started slowly with the list and then moved up to the more expensive items until I had his attention and he agreed to get on the used pos equipment site and order what we needed. The total spent on the order from the used point of sale equipment site was less than what our store takes in during a normal business day.

Bought Bigger And Better Used Poweredge Servers

Posted by Anisma on December 31st, 2009

The only time that I seriously thought about buying new servers, was when the guy from the big computer company came and did a big speech about how new servers can turn your business around and make the office run more efficiently. I was almost sold and then he pulled out the price sheet, I had to laugh and send him on his way after that.

I had always been told by my computer guy that used servers that have been refurbished or at least checked out by a trained technician are just as good as new with a much lower price. I like the much lower price part and trust my computer guy. He had installed some used poweredge servers into our building shortly after the meeting with the new servers salesman and we have never had any problems with them.

We have doubled our employees and since I took the advice of my very smart computer guy, the used poweredge servers that we installed were actually double the size that we currently needed but he suggested that for the future, we should put in the bigger used servers and it has paid off. I have stopped taking calls from salesman who try and sell me things that are too expensive and that I do not need.

Trying To Get A Used HP Servers Site Built

Posted by Anisma on December 30th, 2009

I wanted to start up a new business selling used hp servers on the internet, but I am having trouble finding someone to help me build a website. I thought that I could count on a buddy of mine that had just graduated from college with a degree in just that, web building but he got a job out west and moved.

I knew that this was a great deal; I just needed some help getting it off the ground. I also knew that since the local computer guy was selling used proliant servers for half of what they were worth, I might be able to make quite a bit of money at this. The profit margin was high, from what I could see on all the other sites that sell used hp servers on the web. If I sell my used proliant servers for just slightly under their prices then I would be one of the lowest priced sites on the web.

I am going to contact a new computer company that just opened and see if they would be willing to help me get my used hp servers site up and running and I could make them payments for the amount. If they see my business plan, then they might just go for it and I can start making money at this soon.

We Played On The Scottsdale Coed Volleyball League

Posted by Anisma on December 29th, 2009

My sister and I were volleyball stars back in high school so when we saw that there was a Scottsdale sand volleyball league, we could not resist the urge to join. We were placed on a team that needed two more players and when the other members watched us practice for the first time, they were impressed.

The first game that we played on the Scottsdale coed volleyball league, we won very easily. In fact, I think that my sister served the entire game and we were done in record time. After that game, our team was the most hated team in the whole Scottsdale sand volleyball league and everyone wanted to see us lose.

My sister and I had only joined the league to play some volleyball, meet some new people and get some exercise and it was turning into a big mess. We discussed dropping out of the Scottsdale coed volleyball league but that would not be fair to our teammates, so we finished the season and then just did not resign for the following term.

We have received so many calls from people wanting us to come and play for their teams, some even are the ones that hated us and wanted to beat us. We have turned them all down and just have a fun one on one match every now and again.

The Footie Toddler Pajamas Shrunk

Posted by Anisma on December 28th, 2009

I followed the washing instructions to the letter and still the footie pajamas shrunk quite a bit. I have no idea what to do now. I cannot imagine that my son will be able to get into these anymore. I had found these footie pajamas in the toddler pajamas aisle at the local thrift store. I did not try them on him since they needed to be cleaned first from sitting in a store like that for such a long time.

I thought that just maybe they had shrunk before I got them but I remember holding them up to him to check the size by just visualizing it. It really seemed okay then but now I am thinking that maybe I was holding them differently or something. At least my nephew may be able to wear them since he is two years younger than my son.

The first thing on my list for the day is to go to the local department store, go to the toddler pajamas aisle and get some new footie pajamas that I know for sure will fit my son. If those would happen to shrink that I will know that it is just the style and that I need to buy a size up when getting them in the future.

Ordering Jobs Of Discount Office Furniture And Supplies Is Mine

Posted by Anisma on December 28th, 2009

My new job started last week and already they have been giving me more things to do. I was given the office supplies ordering job on the second day and now, the discount office furniture ordering job today. I do not mind since it seems that we may be able to switch the providers of both of these services to a company that is owned by a friend of mine.

My friend has been selling office supplies and discount office furniture for about two years and over that time, his business has tripled. I think that when a lot of the big companies were cutting jobs and trying to cut back on some things, they all set out to find someone who could give them exactly what they were getting before but for a much better price.

This is where my friend comes in; he works strictly out of some warehouses that are placed all over the country, to accommodate every part of it. His prices are much lower, since he does not have the overhead of the chain stores and he can offer much lower prices than the mom and pop stores also. I asked my boss if it were possible to switch to my friends company and he said that as long as the prices were lower, it was fine.

Danny DeMichele Played a Role

Posted by Anisma on December 23rd, 2009

As a long time business owner, I knew that it was time to make the move into the online craze. I have a store front in midtown Atlanta but I knew it was time to expand. I was smart enough to realize that if I did it right I could benefit in a big way.

I read some stuff from Danny DeMichele and found out that social media was a big marketing tool if it was used correctly. The more I read the more I realized how huge my online move could be. So I actually got all my ducks in a row as far as packing, shipping, and being able to handle a much larger workload.

The last thing I wanted was for my Internet sales to far exceed my company’s ability to keep up with it all. That would be a disaster to say the least. I read up and did some research on that and I made the necessary adjustments without actually pulling the trigger right away.

With everything in order I then had a website built, optimized, and then promoted once it went live. Danny DeMichele helped me understand the marketing game and what to do and more importantly what not to do when it came to promoting my site.

A Lesson About Term Life Insurance

Posted by Anisma on December 23rd, 2009

I read an article in the newspaper about a lady that lost her husband in a car accident and she lost her job the following week just by coincidence. This was a very sad and heartbreaking story. The journalist that wrote the article on her wanted to ask everyone for their support and possibly to donate so she could pay the funeral expenses and such.

He also wanted to get the word out on how important it is to have term life insurance coverage for you and your loved ones in case something were ever to happen. The point of the story was very powerful with this lady’s situation being told as well.

I think it is something that a lot of people ignore or do not worry about until it is too late. It is sad to think that she lost her husband, her job, and is now stuck with many medical and funeral bills that she probably can’t pay.

If her husband had on purchase no medical life insurance or some other type of life insurance than at least she would not have the financial burden and could morn for his death more in peace. I think it is sad but a well told story and a good lesson for all to hear.

ReputationManagers.com: Helping Us Maintain Number One

Posted by Anisma on December 22nd, 2009

When you are the number one seller of children’s shoes, it seems that people are always out to get you and take down your company. I knew that when our sales went through the roof last year, that there would be a big target on our backs. The first thing that we noticed was bad reviews being left on our website, from customers that did not exist.

I immediately called ReputationManagers.com and asked them if they could help us out. They made some suggestions about leaving some of the bad reviews on our site and taking the really bad ones down. They also put together a plan of action to put out tons of good press, including positive reviews that we had from actual customers and spread them all over the internet.

I was all for the good press that ReputationManagers.com had in store for us, and asked them to keep it coming. The holiday season was just right around the corner and we needed to stay on top. We were planning on having record breaking sales this year and I was not going to let some bad untrue press stand in our ways. I had confidence in ReputationManagers.com in helping us keep that plan.
