Posted by Anisma on March 28th, 2011 Whenever somebody asks me what server I should use for my small business, I always give them two choices, the Power 520 Express from the line of IBMPower6 Servers and the AS/400 serverfrom IBM, which are both good for small and medium scale businesses.
I find the Power 520 Express very reliable is very easy to manage. It can cater to systems, applications, and database server needs. It can work round the clock because it does not overheat due to the 65-nonometer process geometry; high-bandwidth buses run 75 GB per second technology. The Energy Scale technology integrated to it makes it eat up just small energy hence it consumes less electricity. Itis distributed for UNIX, IBM 1 (formerly known as i5/OS) and Linux ERP/CRM application servers.
The AS/400 servers on the other hand are recommendable if you are using mostly Java based applications. It runs extremely fast on Java applications and has a strong support for it. It performed better than its counterpart did when it was bench tested on a Java business application besting Compaq and HP in performance.
Posted by Anisma on March 23rd, 2011 Having a 24-hour Internet shop as a business requires great effort in handling the clients as well as in securing the proper maintenance of all the computer units. On the first year of my business, I was having trouble earning compared to what I have now. The server that was used was not dependable enough and it showed on the income that my business have during its first year. Luckily, my friend who’s into computers and its technology suggested that I should opted for the HP Proliant Servers
True enough, after buying and using it, the computer processing became amazingly fast and very reliable. Alongside, the income of my business has risen up to three times as customers are satisfied and they come more often on my Internet shop. There have been several praises, as clients would say that they have not wasted their money and time in using the Internet services of my shop.
My other friends who have same business with mine used the HP BladeSystem Servers, but I don’t care because I have not been this happier and contented with what I have now. I am very sure that with the HP Servers, my business will continue to move uphill.
Posted by Anisma on March 22nd, 2011 Like everyone else out there, I love to own new stuff especially when it comes to electronics. I get excited with new features and cool stuff that gadget makers put into their products. But when it comes to running things in the IT department of the company I work for, I always go for practicality which is what I believe got me to where I am now in the corporate ladder.
When we were expanding operations, we needed to acquire new servers which were necessary in preparation for the added workload. The job of looking for high quality equipment like them fell into my lap and so I did a thorough research about it. I came across used IBM pSeries servers which got me excited - we were already using the same models and I just love how they perform!
I immediately spoke with my boss about the used IBM pSeries seller I found online and he green lighted me to check it out further. I found out the company was willing to provide full tech support should we decide to buy from them which was great since we don’t have to worry about maintenance anymore. Needless to say, the boss was very happy with my find and I got a raise.
Posted by Anisma on August 26th, 2010 The internet is making the computer a necessity nowadays and as more people rely on it to do their work, more data and valuable information are needed to be stored. If you’re a businessman or your work requires a lot of gigabytes for storing all your files then it’s high time you should consider getting HP Storage.
There are myriads of storage equipments out there but if you’re considering long term use, then you’re better off HP. HP is a tried and tested manufacturer of computer hardware systems and they have the track record to prove it. HP is also one of the pioneers in the computer industry and the proof is its being a household name.
Among their specialty is the HP SAN or Storage Area Network. Basically, it’s a storage system used to link remote computer storage devices like disk arrays, tape libraries and optical juke boxes. Its application is common in big offices where computer are stationed in different locations and they all need to access files from the same location. It makes work easier and communications faster.

Posted by Anisma on June 10th, 2010 My dad has been managing an IT company for more than a decade now. He has been an Information Management graduate, and never felt intimidated even though there are younger ones eager to take his place at the office. His company trusts him for his well meant advises. I watched the company grow with him for years and I am proud of his contribution. He had always suggested better quality brands such as the HP Storage for database storage; quality servers for good environment and software development, and so on. Even though the technology is changing every day, he always keeps himself up to date and his practical views earned him a respectable reputation among the staff.
He is the one who initiated the company to buy equipments from second hand and refurbished goods stores. These resellers always give a reasonable price for equipments that have been maintained and reconstructed to be still used by other people. One time that dad particularly trusted a reseller was when he bought his HP SAN. It is still working up to now and is of great use to him. My dad just recently retired from his company, but I guess there’s always going to be a part of him that is left there. He has made a great contribution with his prudence and practical views that is always admired by the whole office.
Posted by Anisma on June 9th, 2010 An officemate of mine is helping out a friend that is setting up a small office. Since I am the resident technical guy in our office, he asked my opinion about what to get for the server requirements of his friend. I would usually recommend a trusted brand like HP and IBM but if the budget is an issue then used xSeries servers are still a good choice.
IBM xSeries Servers are great because they are compatible with any system and you have the option to purchase the traditional tower servers or the space saving rack mounted servers. And I also recommended the site where I usually purchase them whenever I needed some equipment to use too.
He was thankful for the information that I shared for he was able to purchase the equipment that he needed at the specified budget given to him. He was even able to add a few more equipments because of the low cost of the servers. His friend was happy with the results and the savings that he had. I am glad to help out and I’m sure that he will also be referring them to others just as I did.
Posted by Anisma on June 7th, 2010 I was a victim of poor service from a bad website company. I ordered servers and upgrades but as I have received them, I discovered that they are not running properly. All of the parts wouldn’t function well. I was so devastated for I had paid so much for my purchase but I still end up being a victim. That was very traumatizing for me.
Even if I became a victim, that would not stop me with the fact that I need to have a computer. So I was dreading again to find the right all around solution to my IBM hardware. I needed a good website that could provide me this, so I really gave that thorough search and thank God I found the right one! I came across this IBM pSeries website that provides products that are high end. They also had guarantees that you are dealing with something legit. They were professionally tested and refurbished so I really know that they came from good hands.
This Used pSeries Servers website provided me all I need in such an easy way. There were no hassles, no lies and no problems! It was such a smooth transaction! My trauma has been long gone, thanks to this website!
Posted by Anisma on June 3rd, 2010 Closing my business is one of the hardest decisions I made in my life. I own and personally manage an internet shop. However, since most of the residents around the bend now have their own personal computer or laptop and with the affordable internet connection that ISP provides, business is low and I accept the fact that I may have to venture to a different one.
I am leaving town and will make a new life with my fiancée in her hometown. She is a teacher and she cannot leave just leave the school behind.
I stood in front of my internet shop and thought, what will I do with these 50 set of computer and server? This was made simpler when my fiancée informed me that I can resell my used IBM desktop computer. It was unbelievable at first but when I was able to acquire all the information I needed I was convinced that this is indeed a great help especially for me who badly needs financial support both in having a new family and venturing to another line of business.
I was assisted in liquidating and marketing not just my desktops but also my used IBM servers. I was able to meet different distributors, resellers and technology brokers. Even my used accessories were qualified to be resold.
Now, I have the money needed to start a new life and a new career.
Posted by Anisma on January 5th, 2010 The dell repair contract that we had with the company has expired. I think that they want to renegotiate a new one but I have heard that they have raised their prices considerably this year. I wanted to use them again but think that I may need to start searching for a smaller dell repair company that is willing to deal, to have our business.
The company we used to have, had to have come out here at least ten times a month to repair something and each time we called them they charged us a trip charge. I would think that since we bought two new poweredge servers from them, they would be more likely to give us the prices we had before.
I am going to put all of my thoughts in a letter and then fax it over to the salesman who is in charge of our account over there and remind him of the great commission he made on the poweredge servers. I am hoping that he can set the prices or convince whoever is in charge that we deserve to have the prices from before or else we will have to take our business elsewhere.
