The Dell Repair Contract Is Up For Renewal

Posted by Anisma on January 5th, 2010

The dell repair contract that we had with the company has expired. I think that they want to renegotiate a new one but I have heard that they have raised their prices considerably this year. I wanted to use them again but think that I may need to start searching for a smaller dell repair company that is willing to deal, to have our business.

The company we used to have, had to have come out here at least ten times a month to repair something and each time we called them they charged us a trip charge. I would think that since we bought two new poweredge servers from them, they would be more likely to give us the prices we had before.

I am going to put all of my thoughts in a letter and then fax it over to the salesman who is in charge of our account over there and remind him of the great commission he made on the poweredge servers. I am hoping that he can set the prices or convince whoever is in charge that we deserve to have the prices from before or else we will have to take our business elsewhere.

The Used POS Equipment Total Was Very Low

Posted by Anisma on January 4th, 2010

I wanted to make sure that my boss understood that we could not use the old scanning equipment any longer and we needed to get some new stuff soon. I had found a used pos equipment site that had really good quality products for really low prices. I had already priced everything that we would need so that he could not give me the excuse that I just did not know how expensive that was and tell me to go away.

I was not giving up until I had him on the used point of sale equipment website with his credit card in his hand, ordering exactly what was on my list. I had the whole staff behind me, and even some of the regular customers who had seen us struggle with the old outdated cash register scanners we were using.

I knew that this was the only way and now I just needed to convince him of that and not stop till I had him. I started slowly with the list and then moved up to the more expensive items until I had his attention and he agreed to get on the used pos equipment site and order what we needed. The total spent on the order from the used point of sale equipment site was less than what our store takes in during a normal business day.

Bought Bigger And Better Used Poweredge Servers

Posted by Anisma on December 31st, 2009

The only time that I seriously thought about buying new servers, was when the guy from the big computer company came and did a big speech about how new servers can turn your business around and make the office run more efficiently. I was almost sold and then he pulled out the price sheet, I had to laugh and send him on his way after that.

I had always been told by my computer guy that used servers that have been refurbished or at least checked out by a trained technician are just as good as new with a much lower price. I like the much lower price part and trust my computer guy. He had installed some used poweredge servers into our building shortly after the meeting with the new servers salesman and we have never had any problems with them.

We have doubled our employees and since I took the advice of my very smart computer guy, the used poweredge servers that we installed were actually double the size that we currently needed but he suggested that for the future, we should put in the bigger used servers and it has paid off. I have stopped taking calls from salesman who try and sell me things that are too expensive and that I do not need.

Trying To Get A Used HP Servers Site Built

Posted by Anisma on December 30th, 2009

I wanted to start up a new business selling used hp servers on the internet, but I am having trouble finding someone to help me build a website. I thought that I could count on a buddy of mine that had just graduated from college with a degree in just that, web building but he got a job out west and moved.

I knew that this was a great deal; I just needed some help getting it off the ground. I also knew that since the local computer guy was selling used proliant servers for half of what they were worth, I might be able to make quite a bit of money at this. The profit margin was high, from what I could see on all the other sites that sell used hp servers on the web. If I sell my used proliant servers for just slightly under their prices then I would be one of the lowest priced sites on the web.

I am going to contact a new computer company that just opened and see if they would be willing to help me get my used hp servers site up and running and I could make them payments for the amount. If they see my business plan, then they might just go for it and I can start making money at this soon.

Cisco Repair Company Is Able To Get Used Parts

Posted by Anisma on December 21st, 2009

The last time the cisco repair company came and inspected out system, they advised us that they were having trouble finding new cisco parts. They would only be able to promise us new parts for about another six months and then they would probably only be able to supply us with used cisco parts.

My boss was not worried, he had done some checking on the internet and found numerous cisco repair companies that had stocked up on new parts and had also compiled a big assortment of used cisco parts as well. I told the cisco repair company this, and they told me that they knew there were companies that had prepared for just this thing, but they were not one of them.

I guess that the repair company was in talks to merge with another cisco repair company that had better prepared for the event of the parts to be hard to find. I hoped that they made the deal soon, or my boss was going to look for someone who he knew could perform the repairs he needed in the future. I was hoping for the little guy to come out on top on this one, which was a long shot.

Working With Quality Used Cisco Reseller

Posted by Anisma on August 28th, 2009

Despite the fact that there could be thousands of used Cisco products that could be nearly as good as the original, you may not get one unless you are working with the quality used Cisco Reseller. Identification and selection of the quality Reseller is one of the most important and daunting tasks that you face in the process.

How do you know that the Reseller who is providing you the used Cisco products is a quality seller? You can take several steps to find out whether the Reseller you have chosen is reliable and qualitative. To learn exactly with whom you are dealing you can check references, and confirm the business years the dealer has put up. You can also scrape through the feedbacks on the nets about the particular dealer if you are buying the used Cisco products online. You can use the same methodologies when you are using the platforms like eBay, Craiglist or the Yahoo auction.

You can also check the associations of the particular dealer. Find out who are his or her industry associates. You can also check with the universal associations about the background and reputation of the Reseller. Such organizations are UNEDA or ASCDI or the BBB.

With Cisco repair the company aims to provide the customers the best of the refurbished articles. This they do to earn goodwill and to ensure repeat customers. However an unscrupulous dealer can take advantage by effecting repairs that are not genuine Cisco repairs and you may not get the quality you deserve.

Used IBM At Thrift Store

Posted by Anisma on August 28th, 2009

I was shocked to learn that my sister had bought a used ibm computer to use in her law practice. She said that she remembered having one when she first got out of law school, but had replaced it many times since then with newer and faster computers.

When she saw the used ibm computer for sale in a thrift shop, she just knew that she had to have it. The prior ibm computers that she had owned never gave her any trouble. All of the newer faster ones, had things going out on them all the time. She said that she did not really need all the fancy stuff, just a used ibm computer to let her input the information and perform every day.

She said that she had also picked up a couple of used pseries servers at the thrift shop that she was going to keep on hand in case any servers in her office were to go out. She had paid about fifty dollars for everything she bought at the thrift store.

I know that I have never seen and used ibm computers or pseries servers at my local thrift store, but I am definitely going to paying attention the next time that I go.

Are The Pseries Servers The Best Choice?

Posted by Anisma on August 27th, 2009

I would like someone to tell me the difference between the pseries servers and everything else out there. I have seen some that are different colors, depths and widths. I also know that you can get different numbers of bays; it just depends on what your specific needs are.

I only have been dealing with a used bladecenter for the last five years and am not sure if switching to one of the pseries servers will get me the same results I have come to rely on or not. My computer guy seems to think that I should make the change but I also think that he may be just trying to get some extra work out of me.

I was thinking of just calling a computer store to see if they can tell me the differences over the phone or not. If they cannot, then I will have to sit on the computer and search the web for hours to do the comparison of the used bladecenter I already have, to the pseries servers that they computer guy is suggesting. I really do not want to do that. I am not very computer literate and most of those terms will go directly over my head.

I Have Bought Many Used Poweredge Servers

Posted by Anisma on August 23rd, 2009

I am hearing that the prices of computers keep coming down, but whenever I buy a used dell, I just laugh at that statement. I have been buying used dells for years from a company that sells them for much less than any of the so called computers that are getting cheaper.

I always make sure that the used poweredge servers they have can keep up with whatever I will be using them for. I have put a used dell in my parents study, so that when I visit them, I have my own computer to use and do not have to wait for them to finish what they are doing. I have also put a used dell at my girlfriend’s house so that we each have a computer to check email and such at the same time.

The other two used dell computers that I bought are both in my spare bedroom and the used poweredge servers on those have all the bells and whistles that you could want. I run my business from there and since I am an architect, I have to have fast and reliable computers to aid in my work.

I am hoping to buy one more computer this year, to give to my brother who just moved out of my parent’s house and does not have much to furnish his new apartment. He always comes over here, to check his email since he just does not have the funds to buy his own used dell at this time.

Buying Used Sun Products Is Way To Go

Posted by Anisma on August 13th, 2009

If you need to purchase some new computer equipment for your business than you should start by researching some of the companies that sell used equipment. I was all set to buy my servers from a company that only sells new until a coworker of mine turned my on to this new way of thinking.

If you can get, let’s say two used sun desktops for the price of one new one from a fancy department store then would you do it? I would because I think that two is better than one, is almost anything. This is why I am getting two used sun servers from this great company but if I had bought new, then I would only have been able to buy one.

All the used sun equipment has been refurbished so it is not like you are getting someone else’s problems, as you might be if you just bought it from someone off of the street.

My computer repairman told me that it is the smartest thing to do these days and even all the big corporations are doing it. I for one am not a follower but will be getting my used sun servers and desktops from companies that refurbish and resell.
