She was very serious when she came into my study. And I was surprised to hear her say, “Dad, I want us to have one of those walkin whirlpool bathtubs. I explained to her that we already had a bathtub. But she was adamant in insisting what she wanted. So, I asked her for one good reason why we should have one. “Dad, it’s for mommy!” My 4-year old sounded like a full-grown adult. And she continued by saying she heard mom wish for it when her mommy saw it on TV.

So I made a deal with my daughter. I told her that she has to come along with me in choosing the bathtub for her mother. She readily agreed and whispered that I need not worry because it was our secret. My daughter was very good in keeping the secret. And I couldn’t help but admire her for her effort to really surprise her mom. I was more than willing to play my part because I wanted to support my daughter’s love for my wife. Now, her mom enjoys bath time with our 4-year old wonder in one of the best safe bath tubs in the market.
