My sister teaches a course at the high school that is all about world current events. She really enjoys having something new to talk to her students about every day. It has made it a little more work for her, since she has new material, every day that she works.  She seems to think that it makes the course more fun and more interesting for her students, since they have the opportunity to read newspapers, watch the nightly news or check out the events for the day, before they even get to class the next day.

I would think that it is a harder course for the students, since there is really no way to follow a book, to study. The amount of world current events that they have to keep track of for the six week long class must be a lot.

My sister has informed me that she only picks out the top ten biggest events and puts questions about them on the final exam.  That makes me feel better, knowing that they do not have to know every event that happened over the six week period. Knowing that my sister loves her job and her kids learn about things that could really affect their lives on a daily basis, is really nice.
